HOW TO REACH

Kottiyoor is a hilly village at the northern side of Kannur district. Three sides of this panchayath is bordered with forests. Kannur the district HQ is around 80 kilometres away. It will take around two and half hours in bus. Tellichery or thalassery is onother important town near to Kottiyoor. If you are coming by train, you have to alight here to catch taxi or bus to Kotiiyoor.
There is a newly built road from Kottiyoor to Wayanad. More than 10 buses are plying in this route. Mananthavady, one of the importent towns of Wayanad district is just 17 kilometres from here.The famous temple Thirunelly is easily accessible from here. As the village is sarrounded with forests, Kottiyoor is rich with streams and canals. The river Bavaly devides this village in to two equal parts. Kottiyoor is mentionedin the puranas as the the place where the ''Daksh Yaga'' was conducted. Kottiyoor temple is famous all over northern Kerala, thousands and thousands of devotees flow to this hilly village to participate the month-long festival, whcih is conducted in the rainly season.

MANANTHAVADY

Mananthavady is one of the major towns in Wynadu district. Wynadu is blessed with its charming climate and landscapes. Though you cant reach wynadu on train, this wonderfull land is well connected with bus routes to importent towns of Kerala, Tamilnadu and Karnataka.

If you are coming from Calicut by bus, it will take around three hours to reach Mananthavady. Thamarassery churam, one of the major Ghat roads of Kerala in enroute.
